For the final animation for my 30 second Star Wars clip i wanted to develop my scene around the landscape of Hoth. This snowy, vast, desolate landscape was really eye catching for me as it provided a scenery that would be exciting to develop and work with.
Below is an idea of the scenery i was looking to try and base my idea around.
The previous models i have created will link in nicely to this.
Although the task of creating this massively complex landscape feels daunting at this point, i am confident that i can work through various techniques to teach me the ins and outs of getting a good grip on the 3Ds workspace to help me develop this.

Hoth Shield Generator
Next up i wanted to create a non moving model that could become part of the scenery. The scene i had chosen was going to be the snowy Hoth area of star wars. Shown below is a basic idea of what i wanted to create.
As i was hoping to use more than one of these generators in my final, i wanted to make my personal design slightly more complex so using the pen tool i drew a rough outline then used the Lathe tool to create a complete circumference of the model, creating what looked like a a sort of figure of 8. In the next blog entry i will document the progress of my model and other techniques used.
